Happy Thanksgiving!

Next Wednesday is the last day of school before our Thanksgiving break. On Tuesday our class will be joining friends from Mrs. Housenga’s/Grose’s classroom to have a feast.
During the past couple of weeks many of you have volunteered to help by sending in food and supplies. We really appreciate it! For thoseparents who are bringing things in on that day please bring it to the art room at 12 noon. If you are bringing something in and would like to stay you are more than welcome. We will be eating at 12:30 and wrapping things up by 2pm at the latest.

Keeping You Up To Date:

Reading-
Reading groups continued this week. Students were also introduced to the suffix “est” and the rules that go along with its use. Look for suffix and prefix practice to become a regular part of reading groups each day.

Math-
Our math time in class has been filled with money. Students now have a solid understanding of dollars and coins. We also worked on counting up.

Writing-
This week we continued our final writing using the “ideas” rubric. Students are having a blast with this writing. They needed to pretend that they were a turkey and convince someone that they would make a great Thanksgiving meal. Overall everyone is doing very well!
